Learning foreign languages through content and language integrated learning in physical education: A systematic review

The goal of this systematic review was to describe and assess studies that used content language integrated learning (CLIL) programmes teach a foreign via physical education in school setting. 35 articles met the selection criteria. Results consisted two types studies: (a) Low-intensity CLIL (only subject used) (b) High-intensity (various academic subjects were combined). No found preschool stage. Most research implemented Spain. Games sports most frequently contents, English commonly language. improved student’s overall proficiency at higher level. Finally, it is not clear if classes conducted using have positive or negative effect on students’ moderate-to-vigorous activity (MVPA) levels.
